Resort Overview

Recognised as North America’s most popular resort, Whistler Blackcomb is located an easy two-hour drive from Vancouver in British Columbia. The picturesque, pedestrian friendly village of Whistler is located at the base of the ski resort, and is home to amazing shopping, a vibrant après ski scene and endless dining and accommodation options.

Whistler’s ski resort, known as Whistler Blackcomb, is made up of with two separate mountain peaks – Whistler and Blackcomb. Combined the two mountains provide an impressive 3,307 hectares of skiing terrain, over 200 runs and a vertical of 1,609 metres. Each year the resort receives an average of 14 metres of snow. On both mountains you will find runs that stretch an incredible 11 kilometres in length.

Whistler Blackcomb is the most visited ski resort in North America, with the largest terrain, the most vertical drop, dozens of lifts, two mountains, 14 alpine bowls and three glaciers. The two mountains are linked at their tops by the world record-breaking Peak 2 Peak Gondola which stretches 3.024 kilometres across and 436 metres above the valley floor.

Activities and Attractions

The Whistler Blackcomb ski school is recognised as one of the best in the world, here instructors can teach lessons in over 25 different languages. At the kids ski school all kids wear a GPS system so they can track their daily lesson online.

Take your pick from endless activities on and off the snow, such as heli skiing and cat boarding, snowmobiling, husky dog sled rides, horse-drawn sleigh rides, ziptrekking or tubing. Alternatively unwind in one of the many indulgent spas or soothing hot springs. Whistler is also a shopper’s heaven, with over 200 local and international designer shops to choose from in the pedestrian friendly village.

All season long Whistler boasts a vibrant and colourful events calendar, including an annual ski and snowboard festival and a weekly Fire & Ice Show which lights up the slopes every Sunday night during the ski season. It was the host village of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games and regularly hosts World Cup competitions.

There is plenty of accommodation to choose from in Whistler, ranging from luxury international branded hotels to ski in/ski out style chalets and lodges. Famous for its après scene, the village is home to over 170 restaurants, cafés, lounges and bars – many of which include free daily entertainment. The village of Whistler is also home to galleries, a cinema, a library, medical centre, post office and multiple supermarkets.

Whistler is located approximately 1.5 – 2 hours from Vancouver International Airport along the stunning Sea to Sky Highway. A number of luxury transfer services are available, or you can self drive or transfer via regular snow shuttles.
