Treble Cone is the closest ski area to the picturesque lakeside town of Wanaka and just 90 minutes from the excitement and buzz of Queenstown.
Treble Cone is renowned for its fun natural terrain, genuine ‘Kiwi’ feel and for its spectacular views over Lake Wanaka and the snow-capped Southern Alps. It is also well known for its reliable natural snow and as the home to some of NZ’s best powder skiing and snowboarding.
Treble Cone is the largest ski area on New Zealand’s South Island and offers the longest vertical in the Queenstown/Wanaka region. The resort has 550 hectares of inbound terrain, 700m of lift accessed vertical drop, and a longest run of 4km.

Activities and Attractions
The mountain offers something for everyone with long meandering beginner and intermediate trails, wide groomed runs and some of the region’s best advanced terrain.
If it’s advanced terrain you’re after, the Saddle Basin and Summit Slopes are a playground of open powder faces, natural half pipes and fun drops while the Motatapu Chutes allow you to explore untracked backcountry terrain within the boundaries of a patrolled and protected ski area.
If you’re looking to improve your skills, the expert instructors at the Treble Cone Snowsports School cater for all ages and abilities. For those new to snow sports, Treble Cone has a free beginner surface lift and uncrowded slope, located alongside the comforts of the Base Lodge and Café.
Resort Services
Your first stop once you arrive at Treble Cone is the resort’s Base Lodge, here you will be welcomed by Treble Cone’s friendly staff and their unique Kiwi hospitality. The Base Lodge has a Childcare Centre for children aged 3-6 years, a ski and snowboard rental service, accessory shop and Medical Centre.
To truly enjoy your Treble Cone experience, set aside some time to relax and soak in the awe inspiring views of Lake Wanaka from the open-air café. You will be spoilt for choice with coffee, gourmet pizzas, a new burger bar and all of your regular après ski favourites on offer.
Located only 30 minutes drive from Wanaka or 95 minutes from Queenstown, Treble Cone is easily accessible with ample parking, a daily shuttle bus service or you can book a private transfer.
